This album of covers is a tribute to my time at Lawrence Academy, as well as the people who have helped me to be where and who I am today. My love and passion for music has always been strong but has only heightened in my past three years at Lawrence, and the immense impact this community has made on my life will be long-lasting. Because of Lawrence, I am a stronger, more compassionate, and overall excited person. I have learned to empathize rather than listen, and I have been given a taste of what it feels like to truly move people through art – something I will hold onto forever. Robert G. Ingersoll said, “Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words.” Only do I fully understand myself when making music. It saddens me that I cannot perform these pieces live and with my wonderfully talented friends, but I hope my final works of music at Lawrence Academy leave an impact on some of you.
